I am Shari Berman, a Health Information Technology Specialist and licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. I help Healthcare related businesses, agencies, and organizations “bridge the gap” to integrate healthcare and technology in order to manage large amounts of information and to meet the Meaningful Use Requirements.
Having me on your team as a Health Information Technology (HIT) Specialist, means you’ll have someone with a strong clinical and IT background who has a keen understanding of the needs of the healthcare industry and the particular challenges we face as healthcare evolves in technology. I also understand the unique needs of healthcare clinicians, the hospital/healthcare workflow, and the changing paradigms in the healthcare industry.
My Background in Healthcare and Information Technology
I come from the rare perspective of having both a clinical and an IT background: Along with an A.S. in Physical Therapist Assistance and a B.S. in Networks and Communications Management, as well as post-graduate study in Health Information Technology (Health IT). I have a passion for healthcare and IT, so bringing them together as a Health IT Specialist gives me the best of both worlds!
My comprehensive career in healthcare has given me the important perspective necessary to succeed in the Health IT industry, and to combine and utilize my unique skills set to improve quality and efficiency with technology implementation within the healthcare environment.
I am a seasoned professional with excellent written and verbal communication skills and able to excel in both independent and team environments. I possess strong interpersonal skills in developing and maintaining relationships with multi-level staff and clients, and have acquired a distinctive skill set through my comprehensive experience in a variety of healthcare and technology settings.
Some of the EMR software platforms I’ve used include the following: Meditech, Cerner, VistA, DocuMed, Thrive/CPSI, e-Medsys, Remedi EMR, Meridian EMR, WebPT, and others, as well as IT Service Management Software including: Remedy, Metrix, and Clarify.
